History
The company was started in 1987. The first service facility was based in Kansas City, Missouri. The initial fleet consisted of 70 trucks and 100 trailers. After 3 decades in operation, Transam’s fleet has grown to a massive size, with more than 1,000 tractors and 1,900 trailers. Today, Transam Trucking plays a dominant role as far as a temperature-controlled trucking service in the region is concerned.
Over the years, Transam has also developed a highly developed drivers’ center, terminal, and maintenance facilities in Rockwell, Texas. The company also runs a fully-equipped maintenance outlet in the state of Florida. Transam operates over a wide area, spanning much of the central and eastern parts of the US.
Transam Trucking Owner/CEO?
The Jacobson couples, Johnny and Trudy, are the present owners of Transam Trucking. Previously involved with running the Kansas-based National Beef and National Carriers, the Jacobsons have done a commendable job of taking Transam Trucking to newer heights of success.
Johnny is the CEO of Transam Trucking while Trudy serves as the Chairperson of the Board.
Whereas the co-founder of Transam Trucking is Trudy Jacobson.
Other members of the top management are Russ McElligott (President), who has been with the company since 1990. He began his career as the Operations Manager and went on to become the Vice President in 1995 and the Chief Operating Officer from 2005 to 2009; and Murray Droescher who has been serving as the Chief Financial Officer of the company since 1999.
